Swinson wary of minnows Cetransa

Newcastle Falcons forward Tim Swinson has urged his team-mates to take the prospect of strugglers Cetransa El Salvador seriously in Sunday's game.

Falcons will qualify for the knockout stage of the European Challenge Cup with a win and the 21-year-old second row is wary of overconfidence.

"You have to take each team and understand that they do have good aspects," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.

"If you don't do that then you can come a cropper."

Cetransa have been the group's whipping boys, with five defeats and 290 points conceded, and with that in mind Falcons coach Steve Bates is likely to field a younger squad for the trip to Spain.

For Swinson the game is a chance to prove his worth to the squad, and for the club's academy talents such as Alex Tait and Rob Miller to make an impression on the European stage.

"I think it's important to win and the players have shown they can do it and I think that's great," he said.

"I'm still one of the young kids so I'm happy to get an opportunity to play out there.

"Everyone who has an opportunity to play and should take it on with full force and go hard."

Swinson made his first-team debut at Bath in the Guinness Premiership last season.
