Thompstone has played six times since coming back from serious injury |
London Irish have extended the contract of former academy winger Adam Thompstone for a further season. The 23-year-old has played 29 times for the Exiles and scored 12 tries, but suffered a 16-month lay-off with a severe ankle injury in 2009. He made his return in January against Ospreys in the Heineken Cup. Head coach Toby Booth said: "We are thrilled Adam has signed for a further season. He is a strong, quick, and one of the best finishers in England." Epsom-born Thompstone, who can also play centre, added: "I am delighted to be staying with London Irish for another year. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and want to use the remainder of this year and next year to get back to my very best form, and help the side challenge for silverware."
