Dermody joined the Exiles in October 2007 |
London Irish captain Clarke Dermody hopes the Exiles impressive record at Twickenham will give his side the edge over Harlequins on Monday. The Exiles have lost just two of their last five visits to Twickenham and won the previous tie against Quins 29-14. "It's a big occasion and we hope our record there gives us more of an edge. "Both teams are hunting for a win so the pressure is on but we'll cope with that and look forward to the game," the prop, 30, told BBC Berkshire. The Exiles play Quins on Monday, having lost their last three league games to slip to fourth in the Aviva Premiership table. But the New Zealand international insists the mood in the Exiles' camp has not been dampened, despite their slump in form. "We didn't drop our heads and that was great to see. We are still positive we can start winning and we will get wins soon enough," he said. "There is a lot of experience in this squad and that is what you draw on. You draw on all aspects of people's leadership. "The goal is to get a couple of wins to climb us back up the table and the guys will step up to the plate to try and turn things around," he said. London Irish versus Harlequins kicks off at 1630 and is live on BBC Berkshire.
