Staunton joined Tigers from Wasps in the summer of 2009 |
Leicester Tigers fly-half Jeremy Staunton may be out of action until the end of the year with a torn Achilles. Director of rugby Richard Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester: "The initial scan showed a bit of swelling but there is a small tear in the Achilles. "He could have played with it but it's too risky and will have to be off his feet and rested for up to 12 weeks." Meanwhile, fellow fly-half Toby Flood is expected to return to action by the middle of October after a knee injury.
