Murphy unfazed by tryless start

Leicester Tigers captain Geordan Murphy says no-one at Welford Road is losing any sleep over their tryless start.

Tigers have won two out of three so far this term - including Saturday's 15-6 win over Newcastle - but all the points have come from Jeremy Staunton's boot.

Murphy told BBC Radio Leicester: "We will score tries this season - it's just a matter of when.

"It doesn't bother me in the slightest if we don't score tries. I'll take wins every week."

Staunton has so far slotted 14 penalties in the three league games.

But Murphy is convinced the team just need to stay patient and the tries will come.

"The most important thing is four points - we'll get the five points later when we start firing," he said.

"In the last two games we have got eight points. It's a good thing that we are disappointed. We know we can play better and we'll just have to raise our game."

Centre Dan Hipkiss told BBC Radio Leicester that results were more important than tries.

"We've scored some great tries in training," he said.

"All the press are going to make something of it but the good thing is that when we get one it'll all be done with.

"We've won two out of three games - if we'd scored three tries in each and lost all the matches then we'd be struggling."
