Tigers flanker out for six weeks

Leicester Tigers flanker Ben Woods will miss the next six weeks of the season after breaking his foot at Harlequins.

The 27-year-old was playing in place of Lewis Moody, who has a hamstring problem, but was forced out of the game half-an-hour from the end.

Head coach Richard Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester: "He's had an X-ray and has broken a bone in his foot. He will be out for six weeks."

Woods joins Dan Hipkiss, Dan Cole and Boris Stankovic on the injury list.

They will all miss Saturday's clash with Woods' former club Newcastle at Welford Road, along with Moody and long-term injured Toby Flood, Sam Vesty and Alesana Tuilagi.

Cockerill said: "We've got a good squad, whoever we put out at the weekend will be good players.

"We've been in this position before when we've had injuries and the guys who've stepped in have always fronted up and done the job for us".
