Andy Titterrell wants to stay at Leeds

Leeds Carnegie hooker Andy Titterrell says he wants to stay at the club for the rest of the season.

The former England and British and Irish Lions player's three-month contract is up at the end of February.

"I don't know if I will be staying or not at this moment," Titterrell told BBC Radio Leeds.

"If I'm approached to stay then I'd be delighted. I've got two games under my belt now and settled in with the lads and I just want to continue that."

Titterrell left Gloucester at the end of last season and took a self-imposed exile from the game to decide if he still wanted to continue playing.

He then jumped at the chance to kick-start his career at Leeds in November.

But due to postponements and his ineligible to play in Europe, he has had to wait until the latest round of LV= Cup games to finally make his debut and show what he can do.

"I have till the end of February to play out. If Kiwi [director of rugby Andy Key] and Backy [head coach Neil Back] want me to stay then I will and that would be fantastic," he explained.

"I've fitted in well with the boys. There is always a settling-in period but I've settled now and I've got to know the guys and how they like to play.

"I believe Leeds can stay in the Premiership. It will take a lot of hard work to do that. But the boys have the git and determination to push on and get off the bottom of the table."
