Narraway has scored two tries in the Premiership this season |
Gloucester number eight Luke Narraway thinks their push for a Premiership play-off home semi-final should benefit from players returning from injury. Back row Brett Deacon and scrum-half Dave Lewis played for the A team on Monday, while backs Olly Morgan and Charlie Sharples are close to fitness. Narraway told BBC Gloucestershire: "In two or three weeks we should get those guys back and it's well timed. "A few guys have played and it will be good to get some competition back." Gloucester have injury concerns over fly-half Nicky Robinson, who lasted just six minutes of the 34-9 Premiership win over Newcastle on Saturday, and James Simpson-Daniel and Lesley Vainikolo are also out of action. Simpson-Daniel is back jogging and the club are hopeful the pair of wingers will be available for the final games of the regular season along with flanker Peter Buxton, who broke his arm in the LV= Cup final. But club captain Mike Tindall is out for the rest of the campaign with an ankle injury he picked up on England duty. Narraway, who has enjoyed a return to some of his best form in recent months, has started 15 of Gloucester's last 16 games, only being rested for the LV= Cup win at Leeds at the end of January. "I'm happy that I'm fit but when you've played game after game you do want a bit of rest," added Narraway. "Hopefully I won't get any injuries, but with Brett [Deacon] coming back now he'll push me and I'll push him." The Cherry and Whites sit third in the Premiership table, nine points behind Saracens but with two games in hand, and have lost just one of their last 13 fixtures. Bryan Redpath's men travel to Edgeley Park to face Sale on Friday night.
