Gloucester's Nicky Robinson plays down injury concern

Gloucester fly-half Nicky Robinson expects to be fit for Friday's trip to Sale having come off after just six minutes into the win over Newcastle.

The Welshman has been key to his side's recent success but came off with a tight hamstring he felt in the warm up.

"Leg hopefully not too bad," Robinson said on his Twitter account, describing the injury as a "little tweak".

Gloucester won 34-9 to stay third in the table and should also soon welcome back Olly Morgan and Charlie Sharples.

Morgan had hoped to be fit for the match against the Falcons at Kingsholm after suffering a medial ligament problem, while Sharples has been carrying a dead leg.

Robinson was replaced by Tim Taylor, who himself has been nursing a knee injury, while another option in the number 10 shirt, Freddie Burns, picked up a couple of knocks against the Falcons at full-back and was replaced in the second half.

Head coach Bryan Redpath said: "Freddie got a bang to his chest then a whack on his calf, so we hope those two will be all right because we've already got a fairly hefty list of casualties in the back line."

Experienced Cherry and Whites international trio Mike Tindall, James Simpson-Daniel and Lesley Vainikolo are also sidelined at the moment.
