Bryan Redpath happy to cast Gloucester's net locally
Redpath wants to increase players' pride in playing for Gloucester
Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath has welcomed new rules which mean that from next season clubs can only recruit academy players from their own area.
It would stop the Cherry and Whites signing the likes of James Simpson-Daniel, who grew up in County Durham.
"Every Premiership club has a radius which they can't go outside," Redpath told BBC Gloucestershire.
"If you do, you get stung on transfer fees and paying compensation to other clubs that have developed them."
It means that in the future Gloucester and other clubs will have to concentrate harder on developing local talent.
These regulations are going to enhance people from Gloucester

As a club Gloucester traditionally bred their own players, especially forwards, while in more recent years they have been prolific in producing backs such as Marcel Garvey, Ryan Lamb and Charlie Sharples.
Redpath is certain that shining examples can inspire local youngsters, with the area strong enough to become self sufficient in the academy stakes.
"I think it's a good thing for the Gloucester community that they see people that are in the area getting some rewards playing for a big club like Gloucester," he said.
"What we've got to do is make sure this depth is coached properly, is given a clear path to get in to that first team.
"Some of these regulations are going to enhance people from Gloucester seeing people that have [come] through the system.
"They'll take a lot of pride in that and hopefully they'll come and support these players that have come through."
