Redpath joined Gloucester as backs coach from Sale Sharks in 2007 |
Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Kingsholm until 2011. The former Scotland captain, 38, has signed the one-year extension alongside 11 first-team players who have also pledged their future to the club. Gloucester's managing director Ken Nottage said: "This news shows that we are committed to improvement both on and off the pitch." Redpath took over as head coach in 2009 after Dean Ryan's departure. "We've had a lot of challenges thrown at us this season, from injuries to suspensions and we've been a bit unlucky to be on the wrong end of a few results," he said. "However, we have a long term vision here at the club and we're striving to put the pieces in place to give Gloucester the best possible chance of long term success. "I truly believe that we're moving in the right direction and the players who have signed new contracts recently obviously feel that way too. "I can now focus on the job in hand and I'm very happy to have signed on the dotted line because it's a great set up here at Gloucester." Gloucester are currently ninth in the Premiership table, having lost seven of their 12 league games.
