Walkinshaw issues rallying call

Tom Walkinshaw
Walkinshaw has been chairman of Gloucester for over a decade

Gloucester chairman Tom Walkinshaw has appealed to the club's fans to get behind the players ahead of Friday's Premiership match at home to Leicester.

The Cherry and Whites have lost their last six games in all competitions, last winning a game on 9 October.

"I'm asking all the fans to come along and be heard and support the guys," Walkinshaw told BBC Gloucestershire.

"You don't get much bigger games than Leicester. They're always good games, I think we could take them."

Despite being without a win for over six weeks, three of Gloucester's last six defeats have been by narrow margins while another game was against an Australian XV in a friendly.

"It's not like the complacent nonsense that we had at the end of last season," Walkinshaw said.

"I think there's a completely different attitude and they deserve to start winning."
