Narraway still hopes to add to his seven England caps

Injured Gloucester number eight Luke Narraway has played down reports he is on a list of players Martin Johnson feels need to improve their attitudes.

The 26-year-old is recovering from an operation on his back and is yet to play for club or country this season.

"If Johnno [Martin Johnson] had a problem with me, I'm sure he'd be on the phone to me," Narraway told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"In eight years of professional rugby I don't think I've been more focussed."

He added: "I'm 100% committed to my career and trying to help Gloucester."

Narraway was initially expected to be out for 12 weeks following surgery to trim a bulging disc in his back which was putting pressure on his spinal cord.

That meant he was not expected to return to action until late December, but he revealed that he should be back in full training within a couple of weeks.

If everything goes well hopefully I should be back in early December

"The way things are progressing, it looks like it's going to be a little bit shorter than that," he said.

"I'm trying to target the Newcastle game at home on 5 December, so touch wood if everything goes well hopefully I should be back in early December."
