Gloucester lock Alex Brown heaped praise on fly-half Nicky Robinson following the 24-5 win over Bath on the opening day of the Premiership season.
Robinson, a summer signing from Cardiff Blues, scored a try and kicked nine points as Gloucester eased to victory in the West Country derby at Kingsholm.
Brown told BBC Gloucestershire: "Nicky kicked well from hand and on the ground and previously we've missed that.
"He put us in the right areas and he'll be a great signing for us this year."
Brown added: "We kept Bath to nil virtually all game and took our chances with interceptions.
"There was a collectiveness and a willingness to put bodies on the line for each other. It's a great start."
Brown was partnered at lock by another new arrival, Dave Attwood, who, like Brown, joined Gloucester from Bristol.
"Dave's been doing really well and has come on a lot," added Brown. "It's good to have his youthful energy.
"He's a front jumper and I'm a middle jumper, but it's great for him to be here and learn from guys with Premiership experience."
