Outside-half Nicky Robinson hopes to show Gloucester why they have signed him by guiding Cardiff Blues to victory in the EDF Energy Cup final. The Blues booked a Twickenham showdown with Gloucester on 18 April after their 11-5 semi-final win over Northampton. Robinson, 27, will swap the Arms Park for Kingsholm in the summer but insists there will be no divided loyalties. "It is quite ironic how things work out but I owe all the boys here and just want to pick something up," he said. "Hopefully Dean Ryan [Gloucester director of rugby] will see why he signed me and maybe chuck a few more zeros on the end of the contract!  | 606: DEBATE |
"It was a big decision but I felt like I needed a new experience and it was great to have an offer from a club like Gloucester. "Leaving Cardiff when things are going well was always going to be difficult but I think with Gloucester I am moving to a side that is looking for silverware and to win things. "Hopefully they will still be looking for that silverware next year." Cardiff are also looking forward to a quarter-final against Toulouse in the Heineken Cup after successive victories over Gloucester in the pool stages. "You don't have a right to be in finals, you have to earn it. I knew it would be a bumpy road when I took the job but you have to have confidence and determination to keep going. "With a better squad we have committed ourselves to the bigger games and taken lots of confidence and belief from that. T "Then it is a snowball effect and we have gone from strength to strength."
