Gloucester win Doran-Jones chase

Gloucester

Gloucester have signed prop Paul Doran-Jones from London Welsh.

The 24-year-old, who started his career at Leinster and is able to play on both sides of the scrum, has signed a two-year deal after two seasons with Welsh.

"He's one for the future and can develop into a very good Premiership player," said head coach Dean Ryan.

Doran-Jones, who has represented England Under-18s and Ireland Under-19s and Under-21s, turned down other clubs to sign for Gloucester.

"I did have other options, but I met up with Dean Ryan and Carl Hogg and what they had to say about developing me as a player really struck a chord," he revealed.

"I'd also never visited Kingsholm and I got an awesome feeling from the stadium and the city. There's so much pride and tradition there but also so much potential. I really wanted to be a part of that."
