St Quinton plans to help redevelop Gloucester's Kingsholm ground |
Businessman Martin St Quinton has bought a 25% share in Gloucester Rugby Club with the aim of redeveloping their Kingsholm home. The 50-year-old telecommunications entrepreneur, who joins the board, said the club's priority would be to enlarge the stadium to a capacity of 20,000. He said the stadium development would be the "financial backbone" to help the club win trophies consistently. St Quinton said his involvement with the club was humbling and a challenge. The Walkinshaw family will remain as the principle owners of the club, with Tom Walkinshaw as chairman. "Tom Walkinshaw has done a huge amount for the club over the last decade," St Quinton told the club website. "I want to support him to take the club to the next level - a level where we can challenge the best in Europe over the long-term."
