Robinson led England in their three November internationals |
England have been given a boost ahead of their RBS Six Nations opener against Wales with the news that skipper Jason Robinson has regained full fitness. Robinson hobbled off in Sale's Powergen Cup quarter-final defeat to Bath with a hamstring injury and he has also been suffering with a viral infection.
But the full-back is fit again and has been named in the Sale side to play Northampton on Saturday.
"I am really looking forward to the Northampton game," he said.
"The Sale fitness coach Nick Johnston and his back-room team have worked around the clock helping me recover.
"I was also struggling last week with a viral infection, which has now thankfully gone."
England colleagues Mark Cueto and Charlie Hodgson will also be in the Sale side.
He will have further medical checks when he joins up with the England squad for training in Loughborough on Monday.

England are already without six players including fly-half Jonny Wilkinson for the 5 February meeting at the Millennium Stadium. Centres Mike Tindall, Will Greenwood and Stuart Abbott, plus back-row forwards Richard Hill and Martin Corry, are also sidelined.
Andy head coach Andy Robinson insisted there was no "crisis" in the England camp despite the lengthy injury list.
"But when you lose leadership and talent, particularly in midfield, it does affect your shape," he admitted.
"This is going to give opportunities to a number of young players.
"Jamie Noon and Mathew Tait have been playing well for Newcastle, as has Olly Barkley at Bath. "Tait has done tremendously well and (Leicester's) Ollie Smith has also been performing well. We have also got Henry Paul who played in the autumn games."
Robinson indicated he hoped to have fly-half Jonny Wilkinson, his original choice as captain, back for England's final two Six Nations matches against Italy and Scotland.
"He needs time to recover but his recovery is going well," the coach added.
"If he is fit after the Ireland game he will be considered. I am sure he will come back stronger and more determined. He just needs a bit of luck."
