Corry is England's latest injury worry |
England number eight Martin Corry is hoping to bounce back quickly after being ruled out for up to eight weeks with a dislocated elbow. Corry was injured in Leicester's 28-13 Zurich Premiership win at Gloucester.
He is set to miss England's Six Nations opener against Wales on 5 February and the clash with France eight days later.
"They say I will be out for six to eight weeks," Corry told the Leicester website. "I've got to see if I can keep it down to six weeks."
Corry, who has been capped 33 times by England, added: "I am going to do my best to knock a few days off, but a certain amount of muscles don't heal quickly enough, so I can't change that.
"But there are a lot of little things I can do around it, and that's the challenge I face. The easiest thing for me to do now is just to sit on my backside and do nothing.
"But I am determined not to let my hard work go to waste, so I need to do something. For me, the best way of getting rid of frustrations is out there training, because at least you are doing something productive.
"I will be fresh when I return, so all my little niggles should be gone. There's no reason why I can't do it.
"I am limited to the work I can do at the moment, so I must make sure that whatever I do now, benefits me in the long-term."
Leicester head coach John Wells said: "It's a nasty one. He just got his arm caught on the wrong side for whatever reason and obviously it just went.
"He's been playing outstandingly well for us and England and we're going to miss him."
Leicester will also have to make do without Corry for their Heineken Cup pool games against Biarritz and Calvisano.
