George Gregan won his 100th cap when he led Australia out against South Africa in Saturday's Tri-Nations clash. The scrum-half became only the fourth player to reach the century mark after returning to the side after injury.
Gregan joined David Campese (101 caps) as the second Australian player to reach 100 Tests.
"As much as I tried to treat it as just another game, when you are flooded by telegrams and messages you know it's a very special match," Gregan said.
The others players to reach the milestone are England prop Jason Leonard (114) and French centre Philippe Sella (111).
Gregan, 31, has been involved in three World Cup campaigns, and missed just 12 of the 111 Tests Australia have played since his debut in June 1994. "I think it shows how physically and mentally resilient he is," said Aussie coach Eddie Jones.
"Particularly in the modern era, in the last two or three years the pressure on the half-back (scrum-half) at the ruck has increased considerably - defenders are more aggressive in trying to take out the half-back."
