French send Scarlet warning
Serge Betsen
Biarritz plan to emulate Perpignan by ending Llanelli's Heineken Cup dreams at Stradey Park in Friday's quarter-final against the Scarlets.

"Nothing is out of reach," said Biarritz's French international flanker Serge Betsen.

"Perpignan showed us the way by winning there last year and we will try to follow in their steps."

The French side have been boosted by the return of Betsen and four of his Grand Slam-winning colleagues.

"They (Betsen, Thomas Lievremont, Dimitri Yachvili, Julien Peyrelongue and Nicolas Brusque) bring a lot to the team and make us much more solid," said Biarritz centre John Isaac.

"They boost our confidence enormously, someone like Serge does a lot of work normal people don't and that rubs off on all of us.

"With their return we hope to get back to the rhythm we had in January when we beat Sale and Leinster."

The Australian-born centre, who has been with Biarritz for four years, says the French respect the ability of the Scarlets team.

"We expect big things from Llanelli and there is an air of confidence in Welsh rugby," he told BBC Sport Wales.

"Scott Quinnell is a big name and there will be a focus on him, but they are all quality players.

"But we have confidence in ourselves. We've been in quarter-finals before when we were just happy to be there.

"We're not daunted by the occasion anymore. We're ready to go further - and have every intention of doing so."
