Hayes made 37 appearances for Bristol, scoring one try |
Bristol hooker Ollie Hayes will join Worcester Warriors in the summer, which may mean the departure of veteran Chris Fortey from Sixways. Hayes, 21, made his debut in the Premiership against Bath in March 2009 and was a regular this season before suffering an injury. "Ollie is a very driven individual," said Warriors coach Richard Hill. Fortey, 35, joined the Warriors from Gloucester in 2004 and has made 136 appearances for the club. While the Warriors have not officially released Fortey, his contract is up at the end of the season and Aleki Lutui and Ed Shervington are also contracted as hookers for next season. On his new signing, Hill said: "I have known Ollie for about four years now and seen him rapidly develop and come through the ranks. | He has quickly graduated through the ranks and proved himself to be a very capable player at first-team level Bristol head coach Paul Hull |
"Ollie is technically excellent with his throw and a very athletic ball carrier, who likes to get around the field, and has good footwork for a front row. "When he does run he also takes some stopping because he is very powerful." Bristol head coach Paul Hull said: "Ollie has been excellent in his three years at the club. He has quickly graduated through the ranks and proved himself to be a very capable player at first-team level. "I'd like to thank Ollie for his efforts during his time here and wish him all the best for the future."
