England boss Martin Johnson has invited Brive fly-half Andy Goode to train with the England squad for two days during their five-day stay in Portugal.

Goode has nine international caps to his name but has not played for England since November 2006.

The 28-year-old is a former Leicester team-mate of Johnson's and is renowned for the quality of his kicking game.

"It was a good opportunity for us to see Andy and give him some training time with the squad," said Johnson.

"Like a number of other players he remains on our radar."

England have Danny Cipriani and Toby Flood as specialist number 10s in the 32-man squad, while London Irish's Shane Geraghty can also cover the position.

England depart for Portugal on 25 January as part of their preparations for the 2009 RBS Six Nations tournament.
