Goode hopes his England chance will come |
Leicester fly-half Andy Goode said he hopes that he will get a chance to add to his nine England caps. The 27-year-old has only ever been capped when Jonny Wilkinson and Charlie Hodgson have been unavailable. However, he was man of the match in the 34-24 EDF Energy Cup semi-final win over London Wasps, scoring 19 points. "Players just hope that England teams are picked on form. You just keep playing and hopefully, one day you get a chance," he told BBC Radio Leicester. Goode made his England debut as a replacement for Hodgson in the 2005 Six Nations victory over Italy, in which he also scored his first points from a conversion. In his nine England appearances, Goode has scored 47 points from seven conversions, three penalties and a drop goal. His point scoring for Leicester enabled him to take Jonny Wilkinson's all-time Premiership record earlier this season.
