Head coach Nigel Hambly was happy with his inexperienced Redruth side's display as they lost 31-8 at Birmingham and Solihull in the National Trophy. No fewer than 13 of the starting side, which had an average age of 22, had come through the club's youth ranks. "It was about giving the guys who have been knocking on the door all season a chance," he told BBC Radio Cornwall. "You could tell by their reaction at the end they were disappointed that they didn't win." Hambly added: "I'm not too disappointed because we came up here with certain goals and I think we achieved those goals. "We achieved what we set out to do, which was to give 100% and really front up." The loss allows Hambly's men to concentrate on the league. They are top of National Two by seven points from second-placed Birmingham.
