Redruth were chasing a 12th victory in succession on Saturday
Redruth head coach Nigel Hambly says his side did not deserve to win, after seeing them lose their first match of the season to Cambridge on Saturday.
The National Two leaders missed a last-minute penalty as they went down 19-18 having led 15-0 at half-time.
"I'm disappointed, but I'm not going to sit here and blame outside things," Hambly told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"Cambridge wanted it more than us. They showed massive character to come out in the second half and turn us over."
He added: "Good on them, it was 15-0 at half time and they looked pretty much dead and buried.
"I'm a pretty honest bloke and I've got to be honest - they deserved the win."
But Hambly said the end of Redruth's unbeaten run need not be entirely bad news.
"When you keep winning, there's a massive amount of pressure built up on you. That's gone now and hopefully we'll move on and our immediate thoughts turn to Stourbridge next week," he said.
