Nottingham Rugby Club prop Matt Parr has thanked the city's public for their support in last Sunday's 33-13 victory over Rotherham at Meadow Lane.

The Green & Whites need 150,000 to make it through the end of the season, and over 2,000 fans saw them stretch their unbeaten run at home to a year.

Parr told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's good to see Nottingham getting behind us and that's what we need.

"Things are going well on the field and we need a bit of help off it."

It was announced on Sunday that 15,000 has already been raised in support of the club who are facing a potentially desperate financial future following the collapse of a lucrative land deal.

The club are currently third in National One and Parr added the good will generated by the home support has really helped put their off-the-field problems to one side.

"After last week everyone was very down. I think this is just what we needed - a big crowd and a lot of help and a good win."
