Forward Kevin Bergin believes Nottingham Panthers will have to work hard to beat former side Basingstoke in the Challenge Cup on Saturday.

The French Canadian, 27, told BBC Radio Nottingham: "There are a few guys who haven't played there so we'll make sure the entire squad are ready to go."

A win will secure a place in the semi-finals for the Panthers.

Nottingham then face Hull on Sunday as they try to claw back points in the Elite League after an inconsistent run.

"Anytime you enter a competition you're playing to win.

"It's very important and we're going there [Basingstoke] with full force to make sure we get the two points," Bergin added.

The Panthers, who are currently third in the league, lost to the Bison 6-4 in their last meeting.
