Away form is key for us - Delaney

Glenn Delaney
Delaney is targeting promotion for Nottingham this season

Nottingham boss Glenn Delaney believes away form will be key as his side bid for promotion to the Premiership.

Delaney's side head for Esher on Saturday looking for their first away win of the season.

And with Nottingham unbeaten at Meadow Lane since November, Delaney says their form on the road will be decisive.

Delaney told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Our away form last year was outstanding. The route through to the top of this league is winning away from home."

He added: "Before last season our away record was poor and we knew that was the route through to success.

"We'd always been a very hard team to beat at home and we've managed to maintain that."

Nottingham have not lost at home since they suffered a 16-10 defeat at the hands of last season's eventual National League One champions Northampton Saints.
