Crockett's try ended any slim Italian hopes |
England's second string ran in five tries in Sicily to win comfortably for the second weekend in succession. Harlequins's Adrian Jarvis claimed 13 points, while Tom Guest picked up from the back of a scrum to charge over on the blind side for the first try.
The Saxons took control of the match in the second half with Delon Armitage, Tom Biggs and Nick Kennedy going over.
Alex Crockett added a fifth try, with Jarvis again successful with the kick to make it a perfect kicking display.
Saxons followed up their victory over Ireland A last week with this comprehensive dismantling of the Italians.
"I was very pleased with the way the whole team performed, especially bearing in mind that the side showed a number of changes to the line-up that beat Ireland in our opening game and had only a brief period to get to know each other," said coach Steve Bates.
"Every one of them can be very proud of their performance. We dominated the first half, but Italy were still very much in contention at the break.
"But in the second half the players did exactly what was asked of them and that response enabled us to gain control with four tries."
