Jordan Crane ran in two tries as the England Saxons crushed a weak USA side in the Churchill Cup at Edgeley Park. Delon Armitage also bagged a brace as the Saxons stormed back after going behind to Nese Malifa's early penalty.
Topsy Ojo opened England's account with Crane scoring twice either side of Armitage's first before half-time.
Jim Evans made it five before Crane's grubber kick set up Armitage's second, and Jack Forster, Phil Dowson and Lee Dickson rounded off the victory.
The only downside to the evening was an injury to London Irish centre Shane Geraghty.
The 20-year-old limped off after 30 minutes with a recurrence of the hamstring injury which hampered his end of season campaign.
He was deliberately left out of England's tour of South Africa to allow him to try and get some decent match practice to see if he was fit enough for the World Cup.
"He's got a hamstring strain and it's the same one," confirmed Saxons coach Jim Mallinder.
"He's not pulled it badly but we thought we'd better take him off as a precaution as he hadn't played for the previous few weeks.
"I thought it made sense to look after him and hopefully get him right for next week, but we'll have to have a look and see how it goes.
