New Zealand Maori won the 2006 Churchill Cup |
The 2007 Churchill Cup, the tournament featuring the New Zealand Maori, USA, Canada and England, Scotland and Ireland's A teams will be in England. The event usually takes place in the US or Canada but is moving for a year to aid World Cup preparations.
"The Cup has become a fantastic tournament with the involvement of six attractive teams," said tournament director Terry Burwell.
"English fans are in for a treat with nine matches up and down the country."
The tournament will start on 19 May, with the final on 3 June.
Match venues have not yet been revealed, but Worcester, Leicester, Reading, Exeter and Richmond are all in the frame.
"With the exception of the Maori, the majority of the squads from five of the six participating teams are playing in the UK," added Burwell.
"It makes sense from a player welfare point of view for the tournament to be held in England for this one-off year."
