New Zealand Maori have included 10 new caps in their 26-man Churchill Cup squad that will play in Britain for the first time since 1998.

NZ Maori, who won this event in both 2004 and 2006, will take on Canada and Ireland A in their pool fixtures.

The squad includes Hosea Gear, the brother of All Blacks Test winger Rico.

Meanwhile, United States coach Peter Thorburn has named Newport Gwent Dragons centre Paul Emerick in his 31-man squad.

Leeds prop Mike MacDonald is also included while Waterloo scrum-half Chad Erskine is out of the tournament after suffering a broken ankle.

The US open up the event against England Saxons at Sale's Edgeley Park on 18 May before playing Scotland A in Henley on 23 May.

New Zealand Maori take on Canada at Franklin's Gardens on 25 May and Ireland A at Exeter's Sandy Park on 29 May.

"We hope that the strong expat Kiwi community in the UK will come out and support us," said coach Donny Stevenson.

"This is the beauty of this team - we are able to give young players the opportunity to play international rugby."

England Saxons also play Scotland A at Twickenham on 28 May.

The finals day, featuring all six teams, will be held at Twickenham on 2 June.

The competition will be held in England for the first time, normally it takes place in either the United States or Canada.
