Morris has not played for Wales since last summer |
Leicester prop Darren Morris and fly-half Ross Broadfoot are to leave the club at the end of the season. Morris, who has 18 caps for Wales, toured with the British and Irish Lions in Australia in 2001.
He joined joined Leicester in 2003 and was one of Dean Richards' last signings as director of rugby.
Also leaving Welford Road is Broadfoot who has made just nine starts since arriving from London Irish at the start of the 2003-04 season.
Tigers head coach Pat Howard said: "It was a very difficult decision. Ross did very, very well last year and has had it tougher this year.
"I still believe in him. He is a Premiership player and could go away and come back. He was not getting enough regular rugby and as a decision maker at number 10 you have to play to develop your rugby.
"I said he should go away and get a regular first-team spot. He has the skills and can play at this standard.
"But there are things you can't learn on the training paddock and I'm sure he will come back as a very good player."
About Morris, Howard added: "Darren's done a good job, but we've got a few other props in that age group. "If you have your players maturing at the same stage, they will leave together. Darren is a British Lion and I'm sure he will do very well."
