Esher coach Mike Schmid says they must go back to basics if they are to secure their future in the Championship. The Surrey side suffered a 27-22 defeat at home to Moseley on Saturday, and slip to second in the four-team Pool C. Schmid told BBC Surrey: "We made too many mistakes and tactical errors. There's lots on the line so you play a bit tighter than you normally do. "We tried to do some uncharacteristic things. Basics win you games. We need to go back to what we're good at." He added: "It's about what works for us and playing the game we can play." With only the bottom side in the pool being relegated, Esher still have their destiny in their own hands. Their next match is a trip to Plymouth Albion, who have already avoided the drop. "You hope they may relax a little bit," the former Canada international continued. "They may be slightly more dangerous, as they may take some more risks. "But it's about us. We need to match their forward pack and out-work them."
