Plymouth Albion's losing run in the British and Irish Cup continued after they went down 24-13 against Newport at the Brickfields. Newport's Adam Frampton scored the first try of the evening after 17 minutes, with Albion's Wayne Sprangle touching down just two minutes later. Tries from Owen Broad and two efforts from prop Dai Pattison gave the visitors a commanding 24-8 lead. Home debutant Jamie Tripcony went over late on to give the home side hope.
