Brian O'Driscoll could be back in action within a fortnight after finding out that he did not suffer a broken jaw in Ireland's win over Argentina.

O'Driscoll sustained the jaw injury in Ireland's 29-9 win but Leinster officials have indicated that the knock is not as bad as first feared.

The Ireland captain will continue to receive medical treatment.

Leinster hope he could yet be available for the Heineken Cup clash against Clermont Auvergne on 12 December.

The Irish province confirmed on Tuesday that Rob Kearney faces at least two months on the sidelines after knee surgery.

Kearney was injured during the defeat by New Zealand and could now face a battle to be fit for the Six Nations opener against Italy on 5 February.

"After his surgery last week, Rob Kearney seems set to sit out the next few months on the sidelines," read a statement from Leinster.

The news comes as a significant blow to Leinster, who are already missing winger Luke Fitzgerald for next month's Heineken Cup ties against Clermont Auvergne because of a knee problem.
