Bristol coach Paul Hull upbeat despite loss to Bedford
Hull's side have won just once in their opening six league fixtures
Bristol head coach Paul Hull says there are positives to take from their 23-16 home defeat by Bedford.
Bristol were 17-3 down at half-time after gifting the visitors two tries but rallied in the second half to gain a losing bonus point.
"I thought we dominated big chunks of the second half and were threatening in attack," Hull told BBC Radio Bristol.
"I've got no problems with the passion and commitment from the players as I thought they were outstanding."
Hull continued: "I think that was shown by the supporters that stayed and clapped them off the pitch as that was a very committed performance."
The Bristol coach was less generous when discussing the decisions made by referee Dean Richards which he felt were important moments in the match.
The home side were camped on Bedford's try line in the first half but were unable to breach it despite the visitors' scrum being penalised on five consecutive occasions.
"On a different day that could have been a penalty try for us or at least a yellow card," he said.
"There was another opportunity in front of the sticks where they illegally got the ball, I thought, and actually came away with it.
"They were big momentum swings for me and we just didn't get the rub of the green."
Bristol now sit in ninth place in the Championship having won one, drawn one and lost four of their opening six matches.
They now face league leaders Worcester on Friday followed by a home tie against Nottingham and then a trip to London Welsh.
