Hill set to name the same 22 at Esher next Saturday. |
Worcester Warriors head coach Richard Hill said his side were given a tough test by Rotherham Titans in the Championship on Saturday. Hill was concerned about the high penalty count against his players in the 32-25 win over the Yorkshire side to maintain their 100% record. He told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "We talked about tackling and rolling away, but we were tested to the full. "It's hard to get the ball when they slug around the corner like that." He continued "Eventually one or two players were going in and conceding penalties. They then kicked to the corner and we had to defend a driving lineout or a series and pick and goes. "It is an effective tactic to win games with the new laws because it is hard to get hold of the ball. | we conceded penalties and field position and we have got to learn Worcester Warriors head coach Richard Hill |
"It's not attractive to watch and you sit on the touchline just watching their pick and go, it will send you to sleep. "But we got frustrated and did not do what we should have done - we conceded penalties and field position and we have got to learn." Hill revealed he will select his team for the game at Esher on Saturday, 18 September from the squad that eventually won the game against the Titans with a late try. Hooker Aleki Lutui limped out of the game in the first half, but Hill says he would have been available to come back onto the field if he had been needed. There will be full commentary on the Esher v Worcester Warriors game on BBC Hereford and Worcester on 104 FM and online.
