Worcester Warriors have signed full-back and winger Tom Arscott from Championship rivals Bristol.

The 22-year-old moves to Sixways on a two-year deal and will be reunited with his former coach Richard Hill.

Arscott made 69 appearances for Bristol after moving from Plymouth Albion in 2007 and scored 20 tries.

But Warriors have confirmed that full-back Luke Rooney will not join them next season from Toulon and will return to his native Australia instead.

Warriors have agreed with the Australian Rugby Union to have an option on Rooney if he returns to the northern hemisphere in the future.

Warriors coach Hill said of his new signing: "He was one of the stars of the Championship during his time at Plymouth and when he came to Bristol he made an immediate impact in the first team.

"He knows the league and all the grounds he will be playing at and knows what is expected."

Arscott's brother Luke left Bristol for Exeter Chiefs earlier this month.
