Luctonians can still finish runners-up in National League Three (Midlands) |
Luctonians kept alive their hopes of a National League Three (Midlands) play-off place with a 45-14 win at local-rivals Malvern. Simon Daws and Tom Longley helped Malvern take a 14-12 lead. But centre Leon Mells ran over four tries for the visitors with Paul Hulland scoring two to seal the win. Luctonians can still finish second in the table but they would need to win their last two matches and hope Luton lose in their final game to Longton. Malvern's director of rugby David Robins said: "They have been faced with bigger, more physical opposition in some of the top sides. "It's a truism within rugby that a good big one will usually beat a good small one." At Wyeside, Hereford ran out comfortable winners against Bromsgrove, winning 40-25 in a game that saw eight tries. Morgan Goodall crossed the line twice for Hereford as both clubs finished the season comfortably in mid-table.
