Nottingham Rugby chairman Alistair Bow has announced that the club, which has suffered financial turmoil over recent years, is up for sale. Bow says the Championship club needs more investment if it is to achieve its dream of playing in the Premiership. He said: "We could probably carry on the way we are for years to come, but that's not what we want. "We want to raise our sights, show some real ambition and make plans to take Nottingham Rugby to a new level." The club almost went out of existence in 2008 due to cash-flow problems after a £300,000 land deal collapsed. | I have already had a couple of approaches from people who are interested in joining some form of consortium Nottingham Rugby chairman Alistair Bow |
Now, having secured a seven-year contract to keep playing their home games at Meadow Lane, Bow is hoping to bring much needed investment in to help director of rugby Glenn Delaney. Bow added: "I honestly believe that it is possible to develop a club that has a central role to play in the sporting life of this city but we need an injection of cash to help fund our ambitions. "I have already had a couple of approaches from people who are interested in joining some form of consortium. "They have the will and the means to do so, and they share in our desire to establish Nottingham Rugby at the highest level."
