Esher Rugby Club fitness coach Simon Elkinson says the National One side's players have reacted well to last season's relegation. He told BBC Surrey: "We can put our success this year down to hard work and the ethic the guys put into training." He praised the players for keeping up the same intensity as in their last season in the Championship. "We know that if we do that, teams in this division will find it very hard to live with us," he added. "We worked extremely hard in the pre-season to keep our fitness up from Championship level. "It's hard for me to try to structure training around their work but so far we've proved pretty successful." Esher have lost only one match all season in National One, away to Sedgley Park, and are on a 10-match unbeaten run.
