Cornish Pirates held their nerve to see off Plymouth Albion in the British & Irish Cup. Two penalties and a drop goal from fly-half Kieran Hallet gave Albion a 9-3 lead at the break, with Rob Cook kicking a penalty for the Cornish side. Midway through the second-half a second penalty from Cook reduced the deficit to three points. Prop Scott Franklin then touched down for a converted try to secure the win for the Pirates. The result gave the Pirates their first win at the Brickfields since Boxing Day 2005.
