A last-minute penalty from Newbury fly-half Mitch Burton condemned Launceston to their first defeat in seven games. Launceston scored twice early on with tries from Bryn Jenkins and Jon Fabian. In the second period Josh Lord extended Launceston's advantage, but Newbury came back to take the lead after tries from Chris Ridgers and Dan Hodge. A late penalty try gave Launceston a two-point advantage, before Burton stepped up in the dying moments to steal the win. Despite the defeat Launceston stay third in National One with 60 points, whilst Newbury are now seventh with 45 points.
