Harlequins' fixture with Leeds on Saturday has become the fourth of this week's six Guinness Premiership matches to be postponed because of the weather.

The Stoop pitch was expected to be playable but the surrounding concourse area of the stadium and terracing were deemed too dangerous for spectators.

There is also more snow forecast over the next 48 hours.

"I believe that we have taken the right decision," said Phil Winstanley, Rugby Director at Premier Rugby.

"We will now work with Harlequins and Leeds to look at dates when the match can be played.

"As with all the other postponed fixtures, we will have a better idea when that may be after rounds five and six of European competition later this month."

Saturday's games between Bath and Northampton, and Sale and Saracens, plus Sunday's match between Newcastle and Gloucester, have also fallen victim to the weather.

The only remaining fixtures at present are Worcester v London Irish and Leicester v Wasps on Saturday, although both are subject to further inspections.
