Saturday's Premiership clash between Bath and Northampton Saints has been postponed because of snow and ice. Bath had been due to receive some heaters to help thaw out the pitch but Premier Rugby inspected the ground and had concerns about spectator areas too. "Player and spectator welfare is always of paramount concern for us," said Premier Rugby's Phil Winstanley. "Under the circumstances, we reluctantly felt that an early postponement was the best option." Winstanley continued: "We have real concerns about the safety of the spectator areas at the Recreation Ground in addition to concerns about access for the emergency services. "We will now work with both clubs to identify an appropriate date for the rearranged fixture."
