Sunday's Premiership game between Newcastle and Gloucester has been postponed because of the big freeze. Following concerns the stands and surrounding areas might be too dangerous for fans, the clubs agreed on an early postponement of the match. "It is unlikely we would get a safety certificate for the match," said Premier Rugby's Phil Winstanley. "We will now work with the clubs to identify an appropriate date for the rearranged fixture." He added: "All parties have reluctantly agreed that under the circumstances and looking at the weather forecast, postponing the match now is the best option for supporters, players and administrators."
