Luctonians are now up to fifth in the National League Three Midlands table |
Bromsgrove's 29-26 win at Newport lifted them to third place in the National League Three Midlands table. The Finstall Park club moved up a spot as Luton were beaten 30-7 at home by league leaders Ampthill. Malvern and Hereford battled out a 25-25 draw in what was a feisty derby game at Spring Lane. Malvern were shading a bruising game until the Wyesiders scored a late try, allowing Dean Powell to tie the scores with a conversion from the final kick. Malvern director of rugby Dave Robins told BBC Hereford and Worcester that this was a game they should have won. "We didn't kill them off," he said. "One more try would have done it but hindsight is no substitute for missed opportunities. "But it was still a spirited performance against a hard, physical side. "We showed that we weren't going to be bullied and I feel that we are close to putting in some winning performances." | I feel that we are close to putting in some winning performances Malvern director of rugby Dave Robins |

Luctonians started the league season with four straight defeats, but they have since lost only once in eight outings and are up to fifth in the table. Hereford will have home advantage for their match against Peterborough while it will be third versus fourth at Finstall Park where Bromsgrove will host Luton. Coverage of all of these games on Sport on Saturday on 738 and 1584 AM (from 1400 GMT) on BBC Hereford and Worcester.
