London Irish endured a frustrating day as Worcester battled to their second draw against one of the Premiership's top two in consecutive weeks.

Three Willie Walker penalties put the Warriors 9-3 up before Ryan Lamb landed his second to make it 6-9 at half-time.

John Rudd crossed for a converted try on the resumption to give the Exiles the lead, but Worcester hit back with a penalty try, converted by Walker.

Lamb's penalty on the hour levelled it as both sides ended with two points.

On top of matching 12-12 home draws with Sale and leaders Saracens, Worcester have now drawn their last three Premiership games.

The match began in battling fashion with referee Tim Wigglesworth sending Worcester's Kiwi lock Greg Rawlinson to the sin-bin early on.

Irish failed to press home their numerical advantage and it was Worcester's 14 men who opened the scoring with a Walker penalty following an infringement at a ruck.

After another breakdown Walker doubled his team's tally before Lamb knocked over a penalty as a result of a high tackle by flanker Tom Wood.

Another fine Walker kick soon followed but after the break Irish edged ahead for the first time thanks to wing Rudd cutting through the defence to slide in under the posts.

Lamb converted, but it fired up the opposition with Worcester scoring a penalty try when the referee spotted handling in a five-metre scrum.

Walker's conversion handed them back the lead, but Lamb's third penalty ensured the scores regained parity just past the hour.

London Irish head coach Toby Booth:

"We were on the back foot because they dominated the kicking game and the territory. I think we had two line-outs and one scrum in decent areas.

"Some of things we did were a little naive. Chris Latham has not got his reputation by accident and we made him look great.

"We set ourselves high standards, but give them a little bit of credit. And I'm certainly happier to take two points rather than none."

Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"I thought it was a winning performance by us. I thought we deserved to win the game. We were the stronger side overall and made less errors.

"London Irish captain Bob Casey came up to me after the game and said that he thought we deserved to win it.

"We've come away to one of the top teams in England and stopped them from getting a victory but, in another way, I'm disappointed that we didn't go the full mile and get the win."
